ANODIC ELECTROLYTIC CLEANING
In the anodic electrolytic cleaning media the parts are connected to the anodic part of a current rectifier and are positively charged. A flux of continuous current pass through an alkali electrolyte, which serves as conducting medium and the electrolysis of water takes place:
4OH —-> 2H2O + O2 + 4e
The oxygen formed during the reaction produce a scrubbing effect on the surface of the part and carries out the contaminants, cleaning the parts, in the same way as the hydrogen does it in the cathodic process. In the anodic process half of quantity of oxygen is produced with respect to the quantity of hydrogen produced in the cathodic process. The bubbles of oxygen formed on the surface coalescence and grow in continuous layers, before leaving the solution.
The electrostatic charge that maintains the contaminants on the surface of the parts is dissipated through the bubbles layer and this facilitates their elimination from the surface. In this process chemical effects take place, as are oxidation or pH decreasing, and have an negative impact due to passivation of some materials.
Our experience with this process drive us to develop a robust process, safety and efficient for different types of parts and materials. We have different working tanks with a maximum capacity of 1200 L.
