CHEMICAL CONVERSION COATING ON ALUMINIUM

A chemical conversion coating on aluminium is a process that consists of creating a protective layer against corrosion for aluminium.

We have two different systems:

  • Bonderite M-CR 1200 S Aero:
    Yellow in colour and with hexavalent chromium.
  • Surtec 650:
    Transparent and with trivalent chrome.

It is commonly used in aluminium parts that are later painted.

The conversion coat is a good mordant that enhances adherence of the primer coat on the aluminium surface.
